1. Allow the CarPlay when the iPhone is locked

To enable this function, follow the below steps:

  • Visit ‘Settings.’
  • Click ‘General.’
  • Navigate to the ‘CarPlay option.
  • Choose the car from the list of options that appear.
  • Toggle the “Allow CarPlay while locked” switch.

2. Switch Off the Airplane Mode for the Wireless Carplay

First, turn on Airplane mode on your iPhone if your car supports wireless CarPlay and you’re trying to connect to it. Then, after waiting 15 seconds, switch off Airplane mode.

3. Turn on Siri

Siri should be ‘On’ when you use the Apple CarPlay because it depends on its hands-free functionality.

Use the following steps for this purpose:

  • Navigate to ‘settings.
  • Go to ‘Siri & Search.

4. Use a Different USB Port or USB Cable

For the iPhone X series and the newer ones

  • Keep the side button down.

6. Turn Off the USB-restricted Mode

To avoid any potential security threats while using the USB connections, Apple has a feature in iOS that essentially switches off the USB accessory in case the iPhone has been locked for more than 1 hour.

  • Click on ‘Settings.’
  • Choose face/touch id and passcode.
